Showcasing a Canadian first on the world stage: IAC 2022
The Maritime Launch team was in Paris, France, last week for the International Astronautical Congress 2022: the world’s premier space event. Drawing more than 6,500 participants from more than 80 countries, IAC 2022 is the global mainstage from which to invite the world to Nova Scotia.
We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished so far in building Canada’s first commercial spaceport a reality, and many more exciting partnerships are yet to come. IAC brings together the entire global space ecosystem, spanning start-ups, entrepreneurs, laboratories, research scientists and manufacturers. It’s also a venue for gifted students and young professionals, with space-themed exhibitions to engage the general public.
There’s no better place to promote the best satellite launch locale in North America.

The global space industry is continuously evolving, with new and diverse nations, organizations, companies, and academic institutions stepping up. Potential clients are here, and potential technologies, vehicles, and sustainability breakthroughs. Knowing the growth that’s coming in commercial satellite services and launch, the entrepreneurial fire is lit. IAC 2022 is where it all comes together.

A traditional gathering place for the global space community, it’s a special honour to have a presence at an IAC in France, one of the world’s leading space innovation hubs. From the first flights of Ariane 40 years ago to the recent success of the first mission to probe the core of Mars, the French space community has conceived, designed, developed, and supported prestigious missions, notably in the field of advanced science.
This year’s conference motto is Space for @ll, a tenet we share as we design and build Spaceport Nova Scotia. In Paris we networked and celebrated, made announcements, and forged contacts and potential partnerships in this spirit.
